Recently scientists have discovered transcription pathways that turn pluripotent stem cells into red blood cells and white blood cells. (You can read the article here.) This could be the first step in making patient-specific blood products or a way to increase the nation’s blood supply without having to rely on volunteer donors. What do you think?
